Each evening at 8:00pm on Monday 18th  January – Friday 22nd  January there will be people praying online. Get in touch if you need the Zoom login details.

This is only a guide for the purpose of having points to unify around at a specific time in prayer.

This should in no way limit what we pray for together and let us endeavour to pray as the Holy Spirit leads to pray in the light of holy scripture.

“ Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. “- Apostle Paul

“Oddly enough, many people struggle to pray because they are focusing on praying, not on God.”Paul Miller

“Prayer should not be regarded as a duty which must be performed, but rather as a privilege to be enjoyed, a rare delight that is always revealing some new beauty.” – E.M. Bounds

“Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.” – Max Lucado

“True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that – it is spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth.” – Charles Spurgeon

“God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.” John Wesley

“The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.” – F.B. Meyer

“Beware in your prayers, above everything else, of limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do. Expect unexpected things ‘above all that we ask or think.” – Andrew Murray

Monday

The Church

Pray for renewal and the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ to be all that God said it should be. Pray for the Church of Jesus Christ to be a faithful and potent witness to society even during a pandemic. Pray for the Church to unify around the purpose for which Christ has called her. Pray that even the disruption caused by restrictions on in-person meeting will enable the Church to be rid of any idols, and that worship in spirit and in truth will be restored.

The church (local)

Pray for our witness as a local church. Pray for churches in Ballymoney and the whole region that they would experience a renewed sense of vision to proclaim Goodnews in word and action. Pray that people will know that we are Jesus’ disciples by our love for one another.

Pray that Connect CF will have renewed sense of vision for discipleship in 2021 regardless of the circumstances in surrounding society.

Tuesday

Local Community

Pray for your neighbours. Pray for opportunities to love and bless them in Jesus Name. Pray for neighbours who are suffering because of sickness and those who are suffering because of loneliness caused by enforced isolation. Pray for creative ways for us to engage the local community both now and as we emerge out of lockdown. Pray for the opportunity and the capacity to disciple many who will come to believe in Jesus.

Pray for local businesses

Pray for local schools

Pray for local community projects (such as Cheers YC).

Pray specifically for those in each of the above categories that come to mind.

Wednesday

Civic and Community Leaders

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour. 1st Timothy 2:1-3

Pray in line with 1st Timothy 2-1:3.

Be specific and name elected leaders and civil servants with responsibility for governance in difficult times.

Thursday

Care providers

Praying is better than clapping on Thursdays at 8:00pm!

Pray for those who work on the frontline providing healthcare. Be specific and pray for those in Connect (or have relatives ) who work in healthcare.

Pray for those who work on the frontline in schools and colleges also.

Friday
